AI impact planning · AISFY
Understand the assumptions before estimating AI value.
Looking for an AI ROI calculator? Start with the time a specific task takes, the review it needs and the costs you expect. Real financial returns require separate measurement of quality, actual costs and realized outcomes.
How could AI change the time and cost of a task?
Compare your current task with an assisted approach, including human review and setup. Use observations from your own work where possible. These estimates are not measured ROI or cash savings.
- Weekly time difference
- 2.3hours
- Annual time difference
- 99.3hours
Positive hours represent potential capacity, not guaranteed savings.
Use this scenario to frame a challenge and decide what to practise. Check quality, risk and review effort before drawing conclusions about value.

Assumptions & calculation
Weekly time difference = repetitions × (current − assisted − additional review minutes) ÷ 60. Annual difference = weekly difference × working weeks − setup hours. Modeled value = annual hours × your hourly value. Value less costs subtracts annual incremental costs. Include all recurring work in the task times and avoid counting review twice. Include relevant training and tool costs. Results can be negative; freed time does not automatically become financial savings.
